About Me
I’m a wife and a mother, navigating life with a big family shaped by fostering, adoption, special needs, homeschooling, and a lot of grace-filled detours.
Much of my life has unfolded differently than I imagined. And while that has come with its share of grief, exhaustion, and unanswered questions, it has also drawn me back to God again and again — not because things are easy, but because they aren’t.
I’ve learned that grace often doesn’t arrive as relief. Sometimes it comes as strength I didn’t know I had, clarity that only comes through dependence, or the quiet assurance that God is near even when the path feels unfamiliar.
Why this blog exists
Unfamiliar Places is where I tell the truth about faith lived in real time. Not polished answers. Not perfect outcomes.
Just glimmers of grace — deep, unexpected, and steady — found along the way.
If you’re walking through something you didn’t plan, you’re welcome here.
